Answers to Common Questions
---------------------------
Question: I tried to open a picture in Xoom Photo, but it wouldn't open it. What's the problem?
Answer: The picture you want to open must be in a certain imageformat. Xoom Photo can open all the most popular file formats. For more details about the types of files Xoom Photo can work with, click the "Work with Other File Formats" topic within Xoom Photo's Help Contents.
Question: I can't paste an image I've cut from Xoom Photo. What can I do?
Answer: Check to see that the application into which you are pasting can handle the type of image you are trying to paste. Frequently, Windows applications can only Paste bilevel or gray scale bit maps. If this is the case, convert the image class into one that is supported by your application, then Cut and Paste, or use the Copy As command to convert and copy the image into the desired class.
Question: I keep getting "Out of Memory" error messages. What can I do?
Answer: Images can use a great deal of memory. An 8 1/2" by 11" (full page) bilevel image at 200 DPI needs nearly .5 mb, a gray scale image of the same size needs 3.74 mb, and a color image needs nearly 12 mb. Xoom Photo uses Windows to obtain memory it uses for images. If Windows does not have enough memory available, then the "Out of Memory" message will appear. If you have multiple applications open, you may wish to close down some to free some memory. If you are using a picture as wallpaper for your Windows background screen, you may wish to remove that.
